Thinking about your first tech talk?
First-time speakers are welcome at Devs.lk. Here's how to turn something you learned into a talk, a workshop or a write-up, and how to pitch it to us.
TL;DR
Pick one thing you learned recently, tell the story of how you learned it, keep it short, and send the idea to [email protected]. First-time speakers are welcome.
Pick one thing you learned
The best first talks are narrow. A bug that took you a week, a tool that changed how you work, or a project you shipped and what surprised you. If it taught you something, it will teach someone else.
Shape it as a story
- Start with the problem, in a sentence anyone in the room recognises.
- Show what you tried, including what didn't work.
- End with what you'd tell yourself before you started.
Pitch it to us
Email [email protected] with a title and two or three sentences on what people will learn. A talk, a workshop or a write-up all count, and we'll help you shape it.
