Sri Lanka has no shortage of talented developers. What's often missing is the space to meet each other, learn from people a few steps ahead, and find the right opportunities.

Devs.lk started in 2023 to fill that gap. We show up at events, work alongside other tech communities, and bring developers together around three simple ideas: Code, Connect, Create.

We're community-run and volunteer-powered, and we're just getting started.

From community partner to on-the-ground volunteers, here's where Devs.lk has shown up.

30 November 2023 Community Partner

Ceylon Bitcoin Meetup

Our first event as a community partner. The meetup was organised by Bitcoin දීප, Sri Lanka's Bitcoin community, with CeylonCash at Hatch Works, Colombo. The room was packed with Bitcoin enthusiasts and experts from overseas, and the community unveiled a Lightning wallet and NFC card for the first time in Sri Lanka.

Devs.lk helped bring the developer community into the room. Thanks to Nisal Chandrasekara, founder of CeylonCash.com, for the opportunity.

23 March 2024 Volunteers

Arduino Day Sri Lanka 2024

We partnered with the Arduino Community in Sri Lanka to support Arduino Day Sri Lanka 2024 at Hatch, Colombo. Devs.lk members, including Uvindu Rajapakshe, volunteered on the day, including covering the event as videographers.

A full house of makers, students and developers came together to celebrate open hardware, and we were proud to help make it a success.
